She furrowed her brow, unsuccessfully trying to read the text so she decided to just listen to Wesley instead. Obviously, he understood what it said.
He moved away from the book, pacing in front of the counter. "Your name is one clue...Banshees traditionally only cry for 5 great families. The Kavanaghs are one of them."
"Well, lucky me," she sighed, resting her elbows on the counter and watching him pace. "Maybe I should have paid more attention when I was a kid. My mum tried to make me learn all this stuff about spirits and family curses. Even tried to teach me Gaelic once, and that was a miserable failure."
She shrugged. "But what if it's not a banshee? Are there any other possibillities? Demons, Spirits? I mean, it's almost like I'm jacked in to the Grim Reaper hotline. I know who's going to die but I can't do anything about it. There has to be some explanation for that in all your dusty books."
((At what point should we recognize Angel and Henry having entered with Faith?))

Wesley opened his mouth to reply to Anna when he was cut off by the abrupt arrival of Angel. Wesley looked up to see that the vampire had a figure over his shoulder. A familiar figure...
Faith
"You've found her!" he called, watching Angel as he trudged through the lobby. The vampire hardly gave him a glance as he made his way up to his room. Wes caught sight of the bloodied arm, and made a note to ask about it later.
He ran a hand through his hair. "By god, they've done it." He felt an enourmous amount of relief, all grudges momentarily forgotten.

Anna was surprised by the sudden return of Angel and Henry, with a seemingly unconscious woman in tow.
"By god, they've done it." He felt an enourmous amount of relief, all grudges momentarily forgotten.
She saw the look on Wesley's face. Clearly, this woman was the mission that had prompted Angel's abrupt exit earlier that night.
"Done what?" she inquired. Then thought better of it. "You know what--none of my business. Your nightowl boss seems to make a habit of saving damsels in distress. And before you ask...yes, I already know about the 'good vampire' situation. Angel and I had a little chat in the car on the way here."

Wesley looked back to Anna when she spoke, a little embarassed that he had forgotten about her after seeing Faith.
"Done what? You know what--none of my business. Your nightowl boss seems to make a habit of saving damsels in distress. And before you ask...yes, I already know about the 'good vampire' situation. Angel and I had a little chat in the car on the way here."
He quirked his head to the side. "Yes, Angel has a soul. He tends to explain that a lot, what with him not killing half of Los Angelos." He glanced back at the stairs where Angel and Faith had disappeared. "That woman is Faith; she's a Vampire Slayer. She's..." He glanced back at Anna and rubbed the back of his head distractedly. He didn't know how Anna was going to take what he had to tell her. Then again, she was being haunted potentially by a banshee. Tended to open ones eyes a bit.
"She's been trapped in a different dimension for the past few days. We've been trying and trying to figure out how to release her. Angel and that Elder fellow seem to have figured it out..."

"She's been trapped in a different dimension for the past few days. We've been trying and trying to figure out how to release her. Angel and that Elder fellow seem to have figured it out..."
She followed Wesley's gaze up the stairs. "Poor girl, that must have been terrifying," she said with genuine sympathy. Vampire slayer or not, being stuck in a different dimension had to take its toll on a person. "And I thought I was having a bad night."
She rubbed her hands across her face and followed through her hair. It had been a long night of supernatural happenings and near-death experiences. Wesley seemed to take it all in stride but she just wanted to sleep. Pull the covers over her head and not have to face what now seemed like a dark and scary world.
"I think maybe I should get some sleep. Busy day and all that."

Wesley's gaze followed Anna's fixing on the top of the stairs.
"Poor girl, that must have been terrifying. And I thought I was having a bad night."
Wes nodded his agreement. "No doubt," he said softly. "I don't know yet what dimension it was, but judging from who it was that put her there, I doubt it was a very kind one. Right now we'll have to wait and see what kind of condition she's in mentally." He furrowed his brow in thought, the idea of a mentally unstable Faith not appealing to him at all.
"I think maybe I should get some sleep. Busy day and all that."
He nodded, gesturing up the stairs. "I think that may be a good idea. If you like, you can pick any room here. Most of them are empty, but still habitable." He checked his watch, trying to remember the last time he'd slept. The search for Faith and the excitement over the banshee had kept his adrenaline going. "I'll probably head home for a bit as well. Come back in the morning to look at everything with fresh eyes, so to speak."

"Yes, that would be great. I don't need any luxuries, just a mattress and running water. You're sure it's alright?" she insisted, picking up her bag from the floor and slinging it over her shoulder. "I feel like I've already imposed on you too much."

Wesley nodded, reaching forward and carefully pulling the bag from her, indicating that he would carry it. "Not a problem at all, Anna. As I said, this hotel has plenty of room, and very few people." He turned and headed toward the stairs. "I do think I remember seeing a rather nice one up here. Very close to the bathroom too, so you shouldn't have to fight with Angel and Fred for it," he said, giving her a wink before heading up the stairs, trusting her to follow.

She was a little surprised when he offered to take her bag. Maybe chivalry wasn't dead after all. Maybe it was alive and well, along with all the other scary things out there. "It's very kind of you, I really do appreciate it," she said, following up the stairs and trying to keep track of all the employee names. Angel, Wesley, Fred, Henry, someone named Cordelia, and the comatose Faith.
Pausing when they arrived at one of the hotel room's doors, she turned to Wesley. "So what was the number for room service again? And where can I find the hotel pool and the workout room?" She smiled, then looked downward.
"I'm not sure I'll get any sleep tonight, but I do feel better about things. Knowing that I'm not alone."

Wesley trudged through the familiar halls of the Hyperion Hotel, glancing from one door to the next. For the most part, he knew what was behind each of them. Finally, they reached the room he had mentioned earlier.
"So what was the number for room service again? And where can I find the hotel pool and the workout room?"
Wesley laughed softly. "I can give you the number to Angel's room, though I don't believe he'll be too keen to being woken up. And the pool is the basement, but I believe that you'll find that it's missing the water."
He noticed her sudden change of demeanor and gave her another small smile as she spoke. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out one of Angel's business cards. Turning it over, he pulled a pen from his shirt pocket and scribbled on the back. He handed it to Anna.
"That's...um...my mobile number. Just in case you need something. But don't worry, you're with friends now. We'll get this figured out. I promise you."

She took the card and turned it in her hands. "You know, for some crazy reason, I'm compelled to believe you," she agreed. "A few hours ago, I never thought I'd see you again. Now you might turn out to be my new best friend. Life is funny, idn't it?"
Taking the bag back from him, and turning the doorknob, she said, "So...get some sleep, hit the books in the morning. Sounds like a solid plan. Good night, Wesley. And thanks again."

He grinned, looking down at the floor as he leaned against the wall, handing her bag over to her. "Yes. I do suppose life has a funny sense of humour. I'm not complaining though."
"So...get some sleep, hit the books in the morning. Sounds like a solid plan. Good night, Wesley. And thanks again."
He nodded, taking his glasses off and idly cleaning them with his shirt. "Yes. I think perhaps after a good night's sleep, we'll be able to look at all of this with fresh eyes. Maybe something will come to me, help me figure this out." He stuck his glasses in his shirt pocket, tired of wearing them. "Good night, Anna. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay," she smiled. "Sweet dreams. Well, y'know, in the circumstances." She closed the door and leaned back against it, exhaling. Finding the room dark, she fumbled toward the nearest lamp and switched on the light. She sat down on the edge of the bed and let her eyes wander across the room more thoroughly. "Well...here I am."
