Angel pushed the door open and barged inside, he looked to her desk and found Lilah sitting in her seat, he slowly walked further into the room, not taking his eyes off her as he approuched her desk "Sorry to drop by so late but I was passing by and thought 'Hey I wonder what evil schemes Lilah is plotting? what harm could it do just to swing by and per her a visit' " he said, the comment clearly dripping with sarcasm.

Lilah heard the voice before she saw the leather coat-clad figure walk confidently and casually into her office. She looked up slowly to see Angel throwing her an accusatory glare. Why did they even bother having vampire detectors anyway? Damn bloodsucker always found his way past them...
She stood up and walked toward him, crossing her arms defiantly. "Oh, poor guilt-ridden vampire," she consoled. "Finding his life of moping around a big hotel and ordering his underlings around so unfulfilling that he has to come here and interrogate me?"
She stood facing him, not backing down an inch. Frankly she'd had enough of people trying to get the better of her today. "Are you here to accuse me of something? What did I do this time, huh? Spike your blood, resurrect another of your ex-girlfriends, kick your puppy?" she inquired with a controlled sneer.

Angel stood and stared at her "Cut the crap Lilah, well, that's if you can do that being a lawyer and all" he never liked her, not since the moment he'd met her he knew she was nothiung but trouble and she had proven to be the biggest pain in his ass ever since he'd shown up in L.A. "I wanna know why the law firm would go toi so much trouble as to allow Faith out of jail, then set het up for a kill" he stepped closer "Less messy? that it? scared in case the lackys who messed up in the big house would talk?" His expression loosened "Not that you would let them of course"

Lilah narrowed her eyes at him. She inhaled haughtily and took a second to think. Apparently Mr. Elder had gotten chatty instead of stake-y when he'd met up with Angel earlier that night, but that didn't necessarily mean she had to own up to anything. Not just yet.
"My, my, aren't we the paranoid creature of the night?" she sighed, tilting her head. "Granted, Faith was contracted to do a job for us in the recent past, which she failed to do considering you're currently standing here brooding in my office. But that's the end of the story. The contract was terminated; Faith no longer works for us, ergo we wouldn't waste valuable resources on her. And even Wolfram & Hart doesn't have the means to put a convicted killer up for parole twenty years too early," she explained with a slight laugh.
"Besides, this firm has more immediate concerns than the welfare of a rogue slayer whom you've supposedly set on the road to redemption. Dealing with tortured souls? That's your mission, not ours," she declared.
((OOC: Is Holland still alive at this point? I don't want to mention the wine cellar massacre if it hasn't actually happened...Thanks.))

Gene Carver Hein strode down the corridor, dressed immaculately. He ran a small comb through his hair, as he always did before meeting with Lilah. He wanted to look his best.
In his left hand, he held a file, nothing special, just a security report he wanted Lilah to see, this man that, according to the security cameras, Lilah had let into the building, talked to and sent right out again. Before he took his detour to talk to Holland’s daughter, that is. And before his second talk with Lilah, he’d attacked a security guard. Never a dull moment.
Not that he blamed Lilah for everything; she was one of the people who knew how things at the firm worked. He had always been tough but fair; she had always been…well…tough.
“Sir!” a young security guard jogged up to him, and said hurriedly, “Someone let a vampire in the building. The detectors went off.”
He maintained his calm and friendly demeanor. “Well, take care of it. Locate it, dust it, and get the cleaners in to take care of the dust. Simple. Relax.”
The guard nodded, and hurried off.
He spared a moment making sure he looked absolutely, impeccably good. He strode into her office, confidently, holding the file as if it were a bouquet of flowers. “Lilah, hello, do you know anything about-“
He stopped as soon as he saw the stranger. He measured them both up, the stranger guy wasn’t from the firm. Neither looked like they were having a good time. “Who’s our guest?”
OOC: Hard to say, I think he's dead, but he's still working for the Senior Partners in the home office.

"Carver!" Lilah greeted warmly. A slight wave of relief passed over her face as the head of security entered her office. He was the one person in the firm that could be trusted without reservation. At least, that was the way it seemed to her most of the time.
She then turned back to Angel with a self-satisfied smile. "This...annoying little insect managed to find its way into my office. Would you be so kind as to have security escort him out?"
Lifting her chin in a gesture of triumph, she stepped toward him. "You want to confront me with baseless accusations, make an appointment," she advised, "like everyone else."

Carver smiled at Lilah, and turned to Angel, about to say something, when four security guards barged in. "What, we don't knock?" asked Carver.
"Sir, the detectors...the vampire is in this room."
Carver looked back to Angel. "Well, it seems we have our vampire. Escort him out please, security."

((the massacre has happened, took place mid season 2))
Angel looked at Lilah "Me and you? we're far from finished here, I'llk come back when your not busy licking the boots of the law firm's latest patsey"
He turned to be greeted by two security officers holding stakes, Angel smirked, one of them looked frsh out of high school "So how's this gonna be then boys?" Angel said clenching his fists. The guards looked at each other and then the youngest of the two ran forward and swung the stake forward, Angel blocked the attack with ease and snapped his wrist.
Angel pushed him to one side and breezed past the remaining guard who just stood frozen, as he walked to the door to he stopped for a moment and looked at Carver, he didn't recognise him, was her someone the law firm had drafted in the take the blame if something went wrong, knowing Wolfram & Hart, that's how they operated. He stared at him for a few seconds, looking into his eyes, seeing if he was nervous, he stepped away from him "I'll show myself to the door" and he walked out not looking back.

((Yep, Darla and Drusilla made short work of the W&H Special Projects team in the season 2 episode "Reunion," leaving only Lindsay and Lilah alive. Just watched it this morning so it was on my mind...))
Lilah rolled her eyes as Angel made easy work of the guards and escaped unscathed. It was a nasty habit of his. She stepped over one of the guards as he writhed in pain on the floor, complaining of a broken wrist, and watched with contempt as the other guards helped him to his feet and departed her office.
She seated herself behind her desk again and looked up at Carver. "Well, if you think that was the illustrious Angel, vampire with a soul, defender of humanity, bane of this company's existence...then you're right," she proclaimed. "Why the Senior Partners continue to tolerate his existence, I have yet to understand."

"They think he would be a useful weapon. I'm not sure I understand it either, though." he said. He glanced back at the doorway. "I thought he'd be taller. Without the hair gel."
He shrugged, and turned back to Lilah. "Bad day, I take it?"

"Oh, the hair gel," Lilah repeated, shaking her head. "Over 250 years old, and the man is still tragically stuck in the 80s. 1980s," she clarified.
He shrugged, and turned back to Lilah. "Bad day, I take it?"
She nodded, slowly massaging her temples. "A bad day that will soon be at an end, I hope. No rest for the wicked, huh?" she remarked, with a weak smile. Then she caught sight of the file still clutched in his hand. "I'm sorry, you wanted to ask me something?"

He smiled comfortingly at her. "No rest..."
Then she caught sight of the file still clutched in his hand. "I'm sorry, you wanted to ask me something?"
"Yes, just a few things. One of my security guards was knocked by a man with a broken nose, the security cameras caught him talking to you, twice. Then, he stopped, walked into and office and had a nice time talking to Shannon Manners. Is he a client?" he asked, handing her the file. The file had pictures from the security camera, of Lilah, the newcomer (named unidentified bloody male) and Shannon, who was smiling and talking to him.
"Oh, and one other thing, we have new meat for the grinder. Lawrence Huntley, moved from the England branch. Just so you know."
