ooc: No problem, lovely lady. "Oh, that sounds like a lie to me." said Declan, tutting and shaking his head, still retaining his smile. Oh, this was so much fun. "Couldn've just politely declined, couldn't she, Raquel? Had to go and lie to our face." With incredible speed, he moved in front of her, blocking her exit.

Faith had been wandering around aimlessly for what seemed like ages. The need to do some damge was slowly building inside her. She needed to hunt again. And wasn't it just like L.A. to have whatever you needed on hand twenty four hours a day.
She sensed the two vamps before she'd rounded the corner. Caught in between them was a young girl, clearly uneasy with being lined up as their supper.
"Hey asshole!" She shouted to the guy. "Why don't you tangle with someone who actually wants to play?" She stood a slight distance away, with her hands on her hips.

"Couldn've just politely declined, couldn't she, Raquel? Had to go and lie to our face."
Raquel moved closer to Declan, letting her hand linger across his shoulder. "Well, I don't think she's a liar, Dec. Such purity, earnestness...she'd tell us the truth. Or some version of it. Worried about bad karma and such. And the truly good ones do go down so smoothly," she mused, her face contorting into its vampiric form. "Rather like a fine wine. Grandmother will be so sad."
"Hey asshole!" She shouted to the guy. "Why don't you tangle with someone who actually wants to play?"
"Well, well," she said, turning to Dec. "This night just got a little more interesting."

He sighed, vamping out. "Empty stomach and everything." he said, and turned to face the new fighter. "Well. It's Charlie's rejected angel."
A smile grew on his vampiric face. "Hi there. Declan Clay. And you are...?"

"Funny." he said, and quickly pushed Rhiannon to the ground roughly, launching himself at Faith.

Up until this moment, Rhiannon could have told herself her fears were just a product of paranoia, that there really nothing outward that looked dangerous in the couple that had approached her. With the exception of some things they'd said that could be taken in many different ways, including less savory ones, her fears could very well be completely unfounded, and the couple just what they appeared to be: young and friendly and helpful to a young woman lost in the big city.
But there was no doubt at all in her mind that they meant her harm when the man moved in front of her, blocking her escape. She didn't even have time to aknowledge how quickly he did so. The woman was taunting her too, circling her, approaching, danger in her voice. With a trembling hand, she reached for the taser, wondering if she would really have the courage to use it on another person.
Right then, a female voice called out, confident, life-saving, utterly surprising. Rhiannon might be new to LA but she was already familiar with how things worked in a big city: you just went your way, ignoring everyone else. It was thus with some surprise that Rhiannon watched as the woman confidently walked towards them, towards danger, as if there was really nothing to worry about in this situation.
Then she understood. She finally noticed the way the couple's faces had distorted, showing their true nature, hidden behind the mask of humanity. She would have screamed then, to see this nightmare become real, the reality of something she'd only imagined, never thought true until now, not even after being told about their existance by Stone and her own grandmother. Some things needed to be seen to be believed, no matter how open minded you thought yourself.
But she had no time to scream before being pushed roughly onto the ground by the man, who then jumped towards the newcomer, who weilded a stake like she'd been born to with it on her hand. She felt paralyzed, unable to react, to even scramble to her feet and run away to safety. She just stood there, eyes wide, watching, frozen.

"Run!" Faith yelled at the girl on the floor, but all she seemed to be capable of doing it staring at her, her mouth open in shock. The male vamp came at her, giving her no time to worry about little miss blank expression sat on the floor. Faith charged at him too, stake high in her hand. But instead of trying to stab him in the chest, she unexpectedly side stepped and close-lined him, putting her arm out in front of him and using his own motion to knock him off his feet.

"Now there's something you don't see everyday," Raquel observed, casually walking over to Rhiannon and pulling her to her feet by her hair. She clasped a hand on the back of Rhiannon's neck and used her other hand to turn the girl's chin toward the fight.
"A good samaritan in the City of Angels," she whispered into Rhiannon's ear. "Lucky you. Shame that most good samaritans die tragically, along with the people they were trying to save. Someone should write a play about it."

Scrambling back up, he clenched his fists, and attacked again, kicking at her chest and side, sometimes jabbing with his right fist.

Why did they never run when you told them to...? The female vamp now had a hold of the girl, and Faith was getting distracted defending herself against the other guy. If she didn't do something soon, that girl would be a vamp happy meal in seconds.
The vampire she was fighting was quick and strong and had more than a more moves up his sleeve. Faith summised he was no rookie, but she didn't have time to play. She just needed to put him out of the way so she could help the girl escape. Then she'd give him a run for his money. Acting as though he was beating her, she backed up to an open dumpster near the alley wall. When she was close enough, she deflected one of his punches, grabbing hold of his arm and throwing him over her shoulder and into the dumpster. Knocking the heavy metal lid down on top of it, she quickly spun it around and jammed it against the wall so he couldn't escape.
Now to deal with the other vamp.
"Just me and you now bitch. Wanna cat fight?" She asked, grinning and still gripping the stake in her hand.

She should have run. The moment the other woman had come and engaged in battle with the male vampire, Rhiannon should have tried to make a run for it, instead of freezing and staying completely immobile, at the mercy of the other one, the other vampire, the blond woman that had looked so young and innocent.
Vampires. No matter that she'd been told about them. Nothing would have prepared her for this, to actually be in the presence of two of them. No wonder she'd frozen.
But she shouldn't have. Running would have been her best solution. It would have prevented her from being grabbed by the woman, pulled up like a ragdoll, strong hands - like claws - wrapping at the back of her neck and making her see what was happening, see the dark haired woman who'd called out to the vampires fight the man. The female vampire's words made Rhiannon shudder, a feeling of revulsion and fear taking over her. But, underneath it was also a keen sense of survival. She wasn't going to go to her death without doing something about it, Goddess her witness.
With a trembling hand, she reached inside her bag for the taser. She didn't know if it would do anything to a vampire (she had no idea what kind of pain they could sustain at all), but she couldn't just stand there helpless while she was forced to watch the other woman being thrown about by the male vampire.
Except... except things had changed and it was no longer the man who had the upper-hand. Wordlessly, Rhiannon cheered for the other woman, especially when she threw the vampire into a dumpster. And then the dark haired young woman came towards them.
"Just me and you now bitch. Wanna cat fight?" She asked, grinning and still gripping the stake in her hand.
Rhiannon wasn't going to stand in the way. With a sudden motion, she turned the taser on and threw it behind her, hitting flesh, and rolled away quickly, like she'd been taught by one of her friends who'd tried to teach her a little of self-defense before she headed to the big city. Maybe a mite too quickly, as she managed to hurt her right foot in the proccess...

Declan considered himself a sophisticated individual. A man of intelligence, grace, posture and taste. But he was a vampire, and he had a claustrophobia that had carried on over to his vampire life.
It was slight, nothing damaging. He could ride in elevators, and all that. But the fear was building, and it wasn't so much that he was trapped, but that Raquel was out there alone. With the slayer.
He began to repeatedly pummel the inside of the dumpster, with loud, primal screams and roars, so animalistic and brutal that a passer-by would think a tiger had been trapped in the dumpster.
"Let me out!" he screamed. "Slayer bitch!"

When the brunette had dispatched Declan so quickly, it dawned on Raquel that this might be a Slayer. She smiled at the prospect of a battle with such a mythical warrior. Somewhat lacking in fashion sense, but nonetheless lethal to her kind.
"Just me and you now bitch. Wanna cat fight?"
"I thought you'd never ask," Raquel replied. She began to move toward Faith when suddenly there were spikes and an electrical current flowing through her midsection, and the girl had rolled away.
"Um...ow?" She huffed and removed the taser prongs from her skin and tossed them aside. "Vampire, sweetie. No nerve endings. It does itch a bit."
She turned her attention back to Faith. "Now where were we?" she inquired. "Oh, that's right..." She launched a backhanded punch at Faith's head.

Her stake hand blocked the first punch. And then the many others that followed. It wasn't unexpected that this vampire would be strong, given the company she kept, but her sweet human face gave no hint to her abilities. She was fast and precise in her hits, almost as if she had some kind of sixth sense of what Faith's defense might be. Until she changed tact and head butted her. The vamp stumbled back, blood dripping from her crumpled nose.
"Did I mess up your pretty face?" Faith's sarcasm was as sharp as the stake she held.
