Gabriel walked down the steep stairs that lead into a rather dingy corridor, he could smell the damp on the walls and he shuddered slightly, he hated walking down here, why Madam O insisted on staying in a place like this was beyond him.
Madam O was an aging psychic from Jamaica who was an old friend of Gabriel's mother, she never like his father because he practiced what she refered to as the dark powers, Gabriel had known her since he was born and had come to think of her as the grnad mother he never had, she was a friendly person who always set time aside to see her little gabe as she liked to call him. He reached her door and read what was written on it "Madam O: Psychic" he laughed at who minimalist the whole thing seemed, before he lifted his hand to knock a voice with a jamaican accent called out "It's open my little gabe"
He smirked and turned the handle and stepped inside, he was greeted by the smell of sea food gumbo and cigarette smoke, her front room was done out like all cliched psychics where, lit by candles and a round table in the centre with a crystal ball in the centre, he took a seat and he waited.
A short dark skinned woman emerged from the back room, her face lighting up seeing Gabriel, she shuffled quickly and embraced him "My little Gabe" she said laughing "Though you not so little no more"
Gabriel smiled "No, I grew up"
"Too right you did boy" she remarked sitting down "Too quick if I do say so"
Gabriel laughed "Yeah, so, how you feelin' O?"
The old psychic shrugged "Tired as always, I sleep so amny hours in the day but it's not enough for these old bones"
Gabe nodded "I walked by some vampires setting up camp on the way here"
O shook her head "Aye, those dirty blood suckers are everywhere in this cursed city, I may as well pack up and head back home but I can't cos where would my little gabe be if his big Aunty O left him"
Gabriel flicked his eyebrows "I'd be lost"
She pointed a finger "You got that right" she stood up "I made you some gumbo if ya hungry"
Gab pondered "Sure, why not, haven't had any of your famous gumbo in years"
The old woman walked into kitchen and soon emerged with a hot bowl of gumbo, she placed it infront of him and he started eating, he barely lifted the spoon when O feel to her knees, Gabriel quickly moved and helped her to a chair "You okay?"
O sighed "Fine, fine, just got a little dizzy"
Gabriel frowned "You sure?"
O nodded putting up her hands in protest "Yes my boy, I'm fine, take more then a dizzy spell to finish me off"
Gabriel tried to smile but his expression remained slightly grim "I better go, got things to do"
"What about your gumbo?" O said sounding tired
"Put it in the fridge for me" he said heading to the door, before O could say anything he was gone "Silly boy" she muttered "Always running into trouble"
