Needing Direction

[Wesley]

Wesley looked around as he entered the bar, taking in the various species of demons mingling about. Truth be told, this place always fascinated him. He often saw creatures in here he'd never before seen save for in his books. And to see them mingling peacefully...that was something else indeed.

His gaze went up to the stage, where a particularly lumpy demon was finishing up his rendition of a Britney Spears song. The worst part was that he was doing very well.

He caught sight of Lorne at his usual table, watching the demon with a smile on his face as he sipped a drink, probably his famous Sea Breeze. Wesley felt a knot build up in his stomach as he waited for the demon to finish. He hated singing, much less in front of a crowd. The last time he'd done so had been with Gunn and Cordelia, and they had all be plastered to say the least.

The demon finished to a round of enthusiastic applause and made his way over to Lorne for his reading. With that, Wesley stepped up to the stage, flipping through the book for a moment before making his selection.

Lorne finished with his reading and went back to the stage, making a joke before introducing Wesley. He stood in the center of the stage, hands shaking as he began.

He didn't wait to see the crowd's reaction before ditching the microphone and heading towards Lorne.

Lorne watched the Demon after Vampire get up on stage and was happy to see wesley, it had been a while, since his home world, he was happy to see him, and was relived when Wesley sang in key. "Wes its great to see you, come sit."

He saw good things in Wesley's future, but he also saw some hard disisions he would have to make along the way. He would tell wesley all he could. "I know your all congused bubby, and hell kitten wouldn't blame you, you got alot running around in there." He smiled and ordered Wesley a drink.

"Thing is wes, your a good person. You know what the right thing is. Your head is telling you to do the logical and your heart is telling you to do what you feel..." He gave a small smile. "She hurt you bad, no doubt about that. But sometimes, you have to do things. I see good things for you in the future. and they all start at this step."

Lorne smiled at him when he approached. "Wes, its great to see you, come sit."

Wesley nodded and did as he was asked, giving Lorne a smile. "Wonderful to see you again, Lorne. Things are looking well."

"I know your all confused bubby, and hell kitten wouldn't blame you, you got a lot running around in there." Lorne said, waving the bartender for a drink. The man brought it over to Wesley, who accepted it and nodded at the man. He took a sip. Lorne wasn't wrong. Of course, when had he been? There was an awful lot going through Wesley's mind. So much that he found it hard to sleep at night. He'd found himself simply lying there the past few nights, his restless mind refusing to calm down.

Your head is telling you to do the logical and your heart is telling you to do what you feel...She hurt you bad, no doubt about that. But sometimes, you have to do things. I see good things for you in the future. and they all start at this step.

Wesley flinched at the off-hand mention of Faith. Yes, she had hurt him. And now she was missing. And he cared. That was part of what was confusing him. Should he be so concerned about a person who had had no concern for him? Someone who had taken pleasure from his pain? Maybe that's what Lorne had meant about his battle between his head and his heart.

"Things will happen because I came here?" he asked with a smirk.

[Lorne]

"Things will happen because I came here?" Lorne smiled and shook his head. "Not at this step exactly, but close. I mean that step ahead."

He knew wesley would get it eventually, Lorne was pushing him in the right Direction and he wondered how things would come out. He hoped everything would be ok, he hoped things would turn out for them all...

"You'll do the right thing."

Wesley nodded, spinning his drink around on table. He'd barely had any of it. Truth be told, he wasn't in much of a drinking mood tonight. He was also afraid that if he got started, he wouldn't stop until he was completly pissed. And if it happened here, he was very likely to end up back on the stage making a complete fool of himself.

"You'll do the right thing."

Wesley looked up at him. "Oh, I hope so."

Lorne smiled and nodded. "You will cause your a good man." Lorne placed a hand on Wesley's shoulder and smile.
