Shannon looked up from the pile of law books on the table and sighed, "God I hate this job!" she muttered to herself. There was a hundred lawyers at Wolfram and Hart who would die to have an office like hers.
The biggest office on the floor, wood everywhere, a corner office 2 of it's walls glass with an amazing view over Los Angeles. Shannon however could not be more frustrated and sad.
Her father had got her the job, forced her to take law and follow him. She wanted to be anything but...the photograph of him on the heavy bookshelf behind her was more for the clients than her.
The room was lonely and the work was frustrating, nobody liked her, and she hated being there. She made it so obvious she pushed everyone away, but she could not care less. Every day was a count down to when she could go home....and today was no different.

He held a tissue to his bloody nose, walking alongside the corridor. Didn't Lilah say they would patch him up?
He stopped at the first office he came to, poking his head in. "Hey. Excuse me, do you know where the place they do the patching up is? Hell, do you have any bandages? Or plasters, or anything? It's just I'm in, uh....quite a lot of pain here."

Shannon glared at the man who was bleeding in her doorway. For a moment she remained seated before walking round her desk and leaning on it, arms folded.
"Oh I'm sorry, am I mistaken? Does the door have a sign saying first aid room? Or maybe it says doctor's office? Do I look like a nurse? Hmmm let me think...NO! I did not say it was ok to come in...I did not in any way make it known I have anything like a plaster, so why don't you turn around, and leave before I call security!"
Shannon rolled her eyes, this was why she hated working there, people thinking she gave a damn.

"What the hell is wrong with this firm? You work for the forces of darkness, doesn't mean you have to be rude." he said, walking in.
"Then tell me where I can get something for this nose, I injured myself working for your firm and that snake Lilah Morgan."

Shannon laughed, "Lilah hired you? I didn't think she could get much lower...but then she proves me wrong!" Rolling her eyes she walked over to the cabinet, opening it revealed a bar inside, and some napkins. Picking up a few she passed them to him.
Shannon hated Lilah, always sucking up to her Father, and her. "So what job did you do? Lilah never cleans up her own mess, leaves it to the interns like me!" Seeing him look confused she laughed, "Oh I know an intern with an office like this? Right? Well my Father runs this place, so I can do whatever I want."

"Lilah hired me to kill some girl, a murderer. Leaves out the fact that she has supernatural powers, then a vampire jumps into the mix, and everything about it gives me a headache."
He held the knapkins to his nose. "Your Daddy? Well, good for you. The rest of us have to make it on our own, we don't get things handed to us."
He held his head back slightly, feeling the pain. "What is Lilah's problem?"

Shannon rolled her eyes, everyone was always telling her she was lucky having daddy set her up with work. If only they knew the stuff she had to defend. The murderers, sacrifices, the demons, she would give anything to be anywhere else.
Sighing she half smiled at him, he was cute, daddy would hate him which was always a bonus. "Lilah has a problem with everyone she wants to be the boss, and she sucks up and backstabbs anyone in the way. If I were you I wouldn't trust a word she says."
Shannon sat on the desk so her skirt rode high showing her amazing legs, "I'm Shannon, you are?..."

He smiled a little, raising an eyebrow. "Henry Elder. Pleased to meet you, Shannon."

Shannon smiled, he might be a useful contact to have in Wolfram and Hart, he was not bad on the eyes too. She looked him up and down, without the bloody face...
She sighed, "Hi Henry, nice to meet you, look I'm sorry I was so rude before. I just spend all day wishing i was somewhere else. Everyone hates me here so my defences are always up."

"I see. Not the friendliest place ever, and that 'thing' you work for..."
He started to wipe his nose clean, the bleeding had almost stopped. "Well, thanks for the napkin." he said, smiling at her.

Shannon scoffed, "No problem, I mean that's what a first aid station is there for right?" She flicked her long blonde hair obviously flirting with him.
"You want a drink? I have my own bar here, the only thing that gets me through some days!"

"Sounds good. Sure." he said, his eyes glancing down her body. She was definitely attractive, and the daughter of someone with power in Wolfram and Hart. Couldn't hurt to be 'friends' with her...

Shannon smiled before moving back to where she had moment earlier got the napkins that were now soaked in blood. Taking two glasses and placing ice and about an inch of liquor she bought them over to the desk.
"Take a seat, it's not like I was actually working or anything..." She passed him his drink and smiled. "In fact around here I tend to do the possible needed, I mean I get paid whatever so why bother right? When the old man finally bites it I'm out of here!"

He took a seat, smiling at her. Had to admire her, she seemed to be an expert at taking advantage. "Now there's an idea."
He would've asked more about her father, but figured she was tired of people asking about her Daddy.

Shannon smiled he seemed to be on the same wavelength as her, there was just one small problem, "That is I could escape if there was not an employee clause, they keep working here after they die! Fools, I have no contract, I'm no idiot, no matter how blonde I am, they are not having my soul for eternity!"
Shannon took a drink, the burn of the alcohol refreshing, "So how did you end up working with this delightful place?"
