He tilted his head, he's lost fingers and a couple toes in the past but nothing like his whole hand, he looked back up at Faith and winked "Well, you'll have to find that out for yourself sometime, he felt slightly embarressed at such a comment but there was something about Faith's personality that brought that funny side out in him.

Angel nodded,gripping his arm "Yeah, just takes a long time, fingers and toes usually take a couple weeks, fora hand, three times that I think" he sat there quietly, wondering what to say next "Hey, um...if you want..you can sleep here..tonight..if you want to"

There's hundreds of rooms in this hotel and he's offering me his bed? Still, she knew it was comfy, she had slept in it before.
"Sure," she said, unconciously rubbing her arm a little, "if you don't mind." A good night's sleep was what her body needed, but she was unsure she'd get it. She was still worried that she was going to wake up back in her prison.

He shook his head, he could tell she was extremely tired, as he looked at her it was if he could readwhat she was thinking "Don't worry" he stood up and looked into her beautiful, dark eyes "You'll still be here when you wake up"

"I hope so." Her voice had gone quiet again. "Don't think I could take being back on my own right now." She looked nervously at her hands. What she wanted to say was 'please don't leave me', but the words never came out.

He took her hand and hel it firmly in his, she had changed, she had become more vunerable, spending a few months in a hell dimension would do that to a person like Faith, he kept his gaze, notwanting to look away for anything "I'm not going anywhere"

As they lay down he never took his eyes away from her, she seemed happy he was there, it was strange, out of all the women in his life, Faith was the last person he pictured himself being attracted to but when she turned rogue and tried to kill him,he couldn't help but be reminded of himself when he was Angelus, only difference was, she already had a soul, one which had been tainted but one which Angel was determined to save.
Laying on his said he made sure she knew he wasn't going to leave her for anything, sex was the furthest thing from his mind right, all he wantedto do was be there to comfort Faith while she pieced her mind back together.

She curled up again, wrapped in Angel's arms once more. Tiredness sweeping over her body and mind. His strong prescense calming her worries.
"What was hell like?" She asked, out of the blue.

He closed his eyes, feeling content once again, thenshe asked him about hell "Imagine all your worst fears and all the worst pain, times it by a thousand and you don't even come closeto what it felt like" he held onto her, enjoying her warm body against his cold skin "It literallywas torture, had things stuck in me in places I never want things to be stuck in again, got slapped around, got skinned several times" as he described what had been done to him he stopped "Maybe this isn't the kind of imagrey you need before you go to sleep"

"Believe me, I have imagery already." In her head were flashes of memories. Demons and monsters attacking her over and over.
She pushed the subject further. "When you came back....were you different?" She hadn't known Angel before Buffy had sent him to hell. She never met the Angelus side of him. She hoped she never would.

He frowned "Yeah, I was" he shifted closer to her "I was afraid, I was afraid of life, afraid of the world, afraid of seeing Buffy" he bit his lip at the thought of Buffy but quickly moved on "It took me a fewmonths before I was over it, the things that happened, you never forget those things in a hurry"
He remembered the pain and suffering he had been forced to endure,what seemed like years as sadistic demons did unspeakable things to his body, almost tearing his soul apart. he lightly sniffed Faith's hair, it reminded him of Cordelia slightly, since he had snuck upsomeof her shampoobut shestill had that unmistakable Faith scent.
He kept his eyes closed, his contented feeling increasingas heheld onto her.

Faith nuzzled her head into his shoulder, her hand gently resting against his chest. She had never felt the need for someone to protect her, and if anyone else asked, she would never admit she wanted it. She spoke sleepily, her mind trying to switch off, but her heart wanted to ask one more question.
"Will I be okay?"

He stroked her hair slowly, starting to drift off, he was feeling really good about himself, it made him feel wanted, unlike the cold reception he recieved from everyone when he went to visit Buffy's grave in Sunnydale, he regretted the last time they had seeneach other they had a huge arguement about Faith, he remembered the moment he told her to get out his city, he could picture the look of hurt in her eyes as she walked away from him.
He heard Faith ask him something and stroked her cheek slowly "You're gonna be just fine"
